Sharp 488nm GH04850B2G 55mW Laser DiodeThis is a 5.6mm Diode
Datasheet
Diodes are current hungry and as they heat up their internal resistance is lowered causing them to want to draw more current requiring constant current regulator instead of just voltage regulation. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery or wall adapter. A laser driver is needed to power this diode reliably. If you run off a alternative power source like a bench power supply you are accepting the risk of doing so and if not familiar with how to reduce the risk by following a specific sequence of connecting and disconnecting from the supply immediate damage can result. Non Laser driver power sources even if a current regulate source like DC-DC converters or LED driver are a very common cause of very short life or immediate damage being harsh on the diode on every power cycle due to the extremely sensitive nature of laser diodes. If you want I do have an option fo the diode in a copper module with a laser driver installed where a very common cause of very short life or immediate damage being harsh on the diode on every power cycle due to the extremely sensitive nature of laser diodes. *Disclaimer*
All laser diodes/modules offered are components for integration into a wide range of end products. They require fundamental understanding laser safety, electronic characteristics of laser diodes which are current source, specialized current source circuitry required to properly power them and provide functionality required by the end product, optics for collimation, optics used for beam shaping/combining/filtering, and proper thermal management of waste heat generated. Failure to properly incorporate these items into your end product can cause a dangerous situation resulting in bodily harm to yourself or others.
No end product
specific
bundle listings or as often referred to as "Kits" are offered and no commissioned building or repair of any completed end products are offered. Please do not ask.
