    Description

LAUREN BACALL WOMAN OF THE YEAR
Window Card/Poster. WOMAN OF THE YEAR opened in 1981. It was MISS  BACALL'S second big, splashy, successful, Tony Award-winning musical. (Her first was 1970's APPLAUSE.) Who knew LAUREN BACALL could sing? Well, nobody knew because in truth she couldn't sing. She could talk-sing, similar to the way Rex Harrison handled Professor Henry Higgins. BACALL could talk-sing and she could sell a song. She could sell a song so well, in fact, that she won her second Tony Award as BEST ACTRESS in a MUSICAL for WOMAN OF THE YEAR. And supporting actress Marilyn Cooper also took home a Tony for her show-stopping 15 minutes on stage. A memorable highlight of the show was leading man Harry Guardino's song and dance with an animated cat -- because his character was a cartoonist, you see. But still it was LAUREN BACALL, the almost legendary star with the husky, rusty voice that people came to see. And BACALL plus five Tony Awards for the show kept the audience coming for 770 performances on Broadway and a subsequent national tour. This window card is done in gold foil with BACALL'S incandescent face right smack in the middle. Her face sits just above three of the cartoon cats who were much talked about in the show. The card is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with no discernible flaws. This 14"x 22" window card is not a reprint. It is from the original run of gold-foil printings -- now quite scarce, perhaps even rare..                                          Shipping is .50 due to size of package
