ANGELA LANSBURYA LITTLE FAMILY BUSINESS
Window Card 1982
A LITTLE FAMILY BUSINESS
by Jay Presson Allen must never be confused with Alan Ayckbourn's similarly titled play
A SMALL FAMILY BUSINESS.
The latter is a fun and funny farcical ride that has enjoyed success in London. The former received one of the most stinging reviews ever published in the NY Times -- replete with scathing barbs offset by only one tiny compliment reserved for the star Miss Lansbury. It could be assumed that playwright Miss Presson Allen herself was less than pleased with the end results since -- take note -- her name does not even appear on the window card. By choice, we might guess.
A LITTLE FAMILY BUSINESS
played a meager 13 performances in New York - a
rare circumstance for the usually untouchable ANGELA LANSBURY. Nevertheless, for fans of this radiant actress, the window card provides a scarce and necessary memento from an extraordinary career. The card is in excellent condition with creases at two corners of no more than 1/8th of an inch. It is unsoiled and has the look of newness about it. Because the show had such a short run and so few cards were produced, this item has become rather scarce.
